Parks near Willowbrook are the neighbourhood kind: a playground, a ball field, a short loop to walk the dog. They’re good ones, but they’re small. The big indoor facilities (pools, rinks, a full community centre) are a short drive away in the City or in Murrayville. Park conditions and rules change as you cross the City-Township line, so we’ve split the list that way.
Which parks are close to Willowbrook?
Features listed are those confirmed in the municipal park directories in October 2026. A blank doesn’t mean a park lacks something, only that we couldn’t confirm it.

Walks and trails
Langley Meadows trail and Meadows Edge. Start at the park at 19901 Willoughby Way, or from the entrances on the Township’s map. The mapped route strings together the green spaces inside the neighbourhood. We couldn’t find a total length or difficulty rating, and dogs have to be leashed. More in our Langley Meadows page.
Brydon Lagoon. Park off 53 Avenue near 198A Street or start at 5210 196 Street. Discover Langley City describes a loop of about 1 km, and it connects to the Nicomekl trails. Read our Brydon Lagoon page for birds and parking.
Rotary Nicomekl floodplain trail. The City identifies access and parking from 53 Avenue, 203 Street and 208 Street, and it’s a multi-use route running east to west south of the mall. Stay on the signed public path. A creek or protected strip on a map isn’t permission to cross private land. Details are in our Nicomekl River trails guide, and more routes in Langley hikes and walks.
Recreation centres, rinks and pools
| Facility | Where | What it offers |
|---|---|---|
| Timms Community Centre | 20399 Douglas Crescent (City) | Gym, fitness and weight rooms, indoor walking track, activity rooms. The City publishes youth programming; check dated schedules |
| Canlan Sports, Langley Twin Rinks | 5700 Langley Bypass (City) | Two ice surfaces, skating and hockey programs. Check the dated session schedule |
| W.C. Blair Recreation Centre | 22200 Fraser Highway, Murrayville | Indoor swimming and recreation. Outside Willowbrook, so it’s an extra trip |
There’s no indoor municipal pool in the immediate Willowbrook area. If swim lessons are in your plans, W.C. Blair and our swim club guide are the places to start.
Kids’ sports and clubs
Langley United’s fall 2026 U11 to U18 program lists Willoughby-area turf activity, and Langley Minor Hockey posts its 2026/27 registration and residence-verification requirements, with Twin Rinks among its arenas. Neither page guarantees a place or a Willowbrook-only schedule, so enquire early. See our Langley United Soccer and Langley Minor Hockey pages, or the public skating guide for drop-in ice.
Community life and events
The Langley Meadows Community Association is the clearest residents’ group we could confirm in the area. The Township recorded its Clean Up Langley Day on 18 April 2026, 9 a.m. to noon. We didn’t find a Willowbrook-wide residents’ association, a service club or an annual neighbourhood festival, so we haven’t promised one. For mall events, use the centre’s own calendar.
What’s planned
We found no funded, scheduled new public park, pool or community centre inside the immediate Willowbrook core. The Township’s Willowbrook plan update is paused over airport zoning constraints, so any green space shown in a future vision isn’t a commitment. The main change coming is the station and its surroundings, covered on our getting around page.
